We’ve found success in catching the inshore slam of trout, redfish, and snook recently by using different techniques to specifically target each species.  The trout have come from open expanses of grass flats using plastic tailed jigs. Making long casts with the wind has allowed us to cover as much water as possible.  We’ve focused on submerged oyster bars for redfish using fresh cut pinfish.  Placing the bait on the sandy rim of the oysters where it meets the grass has been effective.  Snook have come from mangrove shorelines using live bait.  Casts have needed to be as close to the trees as possible without being hung in the limbs.  A cool down in the weather this weekend should changes things up a little and improve the already good fishing we’ve been experiencing.
