Active tropical systems combined with late summer weather patterns means staying attuned to forecasts and being observant of the ever-changing conditions.  No two days are the same.  Both baitfish and the target species we seek have tails and tend to use them when weather is inconsistent.  I typically begin each trip in the area where I caught fish on the previous outing.  From there I can move as necessary to find or stay with the fish as they move.  Hard bottom areas just inside the mouth of the bay have been consistent for me to connect with a variety of species and keep everyone catching fish.  From there I’ve been able to move shallower and connect with a few redfish to finish off the morning on a high note.
