Fishing has been exceptional for the past week. We targeted Kingfish for the most of the week with success. The fish were ranging anywhere from 6 to 30 pounds. They were  congregated in the large schools.

The locations of the kings were anywhere from 30 to 70 feet of water. Once locating  these massive schools of fish, it was quite easy to get them to bite. They’ve been migrating for hundreds of miles, so their appetites with large.

We used mostly threadfin herring  and cigar minnows for bait. They were accessible by drifting a mile or so outside the pass, over the sandy bottom. We used  gold hook  bait rigs to load the wells. We also got a few fish on Blue Runners.

Added  bonuses to the king action, were Barracuda and Cobia. These positive results t witnessed this week will only improve after each weather system goes by.
