Our Fish Picture of the Week!

Dear Capt Mel-

First off, thank you for a great web site with lots of valuable info!

We were fishing in the Indian River off Titusville last weekend. Caught a bunch of nice sized white bait and fished several spots. We ended up catching a couple nice reds and lost a couple snook. We decided to hit one last spot around 3 pm before heading off the water. I tossed up a bait to the mangroves and hooked up instantly... pulled me deep in the mangroves and broke me off! We were only using light tackle and smaller hooks. Nyah casted up and hooked up just as quick. She was able to turn the snook out of the mangroves quick enough and after a few good runs, she had this one on the boat! She measured 29.5". Snook season was still open but we could tell she had a fat belly full of eggs... so we snapped a pic and quickly put her back in the water. She instantly darted off back to the mangroves! Good times!

Take care!

Jason

There's something really exciting about catching a nice snook like that. and we want to thank Jason for the picture and Nyah for her catch. As her prize, she will receive a "Capt. Mel MirrOlure assortment" of some of the most  productive, fish-catching plugs.
