Got to love this weather! It’s been some excellent inshore fishing for trout, redfish and sheepshead. Look for trout in the deep creeks or flats on the incoming tide that are still holding rock grass. MirrOlure LiL’ Johns under a popping cork are working well or a D.O.A. glow nose hooked jerk bait. Redfish are on the western facing points on the incoming tide biting on live shrimp. Sheepshead are showing up on the nearshore rocks and biting on fresh shrimp on a chartreuse 1/4 oz. jighead. If you want some snook action fish the docks in our bigger rivers. Skipping a D.O.A. 3″ shrimp back in the pilings will get the bite, make sure to use a heavier leader.  To learn more about fishing and conservation in Citrus County join me at the Homosassa Civic Club February 6th at 7pm for a free ” Homosassa 101 ” seminar. Please bring your questions. High incoming tide will be early morning or late evening this weekend.
