There are a few ways to get your fishing fix in right now. For the cheap route stick with fishing in the rivers because you burn less fuel and artificial lures will catch snook, trout, redfish, ladyfish, jack crevalles and mangrove snapper. I like to start around mid river on cold days and work my way back up towards the head springs casting along mostly northern shorelines. Another way to have fun with catch and release snook is to be at the head waters early before manatees tours. Work the dock and tree lines with a MirrOlure MirrOdine and be aware there are close areas to fishing that could result in fines if you cast in there.  The long run is just a bit more costly because you are burning more fuel and buying plenty of live shrimp. The structure out in 8 to ten foot is the best places to catch sheepshead that is one of the more reliable species during the winter. Live shrimp on a chartreuse 1/8 jighead is the best bait. I like to pinch the tail off the shrimp and thread it on tail first on the hook. On high tides the trout bite has been good on the outside rocky points during warm days. High incoming tide this weekend will be in the afternoon.
