Changes in weather will impact the way you can catch fish this coming weekend. I will say last weekend I expected some cooler conditions but it never happen. So this weeks front should help change things up. Generally the day or two before a cold front the fish tend to bite very well do to low pressure of the approaching front and the day after with blue bird sky’s high pressure, plan on doing something different then what was going on before the front.

This is a transition where I start to fish more into the deeper creeks and our Nature Coast Rivers. Fish will look for that perfect water temperature that their comfortable in. Creeks and rivers hold on to the warmer water longer than a flat that is exposed to the cold air and wind blown waves, River and creeks have trees that block wind and earth that holds heat plus the rivers have the spring feed 72 degree waters that flows out the river. When fishing in the creeks I like to use a suspending type plug in the holes and deeper water near the west end. Trout are a good target because they will move in a the Gulf cools down. Good creeks are Mason, Fish  and  St. Martins River. Deeper stretches using soft plastics or popping corks with live shrimp can be very productive.
In the rivers live shrimp free lined or on a jig head near drop off close to the channel edges can produce  redfish, black drum and mangrove snapper. The incoming tides will be at dark in the morning or dark in the evening expect outgoing tides most of the day.
