A cold week should give way to a warm weekend. With dropping Gulf temperatures saltwater fish will push up our spring fed rivers to seek warmer water. The deeper sections near the mouths of the Crystal River and Homosassa will have sea trout holding on the edge of the drop-off on the channel. MirrOlure MirrOdines are a excellent lure for winter river trout.  Area’s with rocky points near the channel, bottom fish with live shrimp for redfish, black drum and sheepshead.  Mangrove snapper will also hold around the same structure. Further up river for good action casting jigs there will be plenty of ladyfish, jacks and snook. The head waters of the Homosassa and Kings Bay in Crystal River are good spots for this.

Looking to learn a little more about fishing in Citrus County, join the Gulf Coast Anglers Sport Fishing Club at Burkes of Ireland (564 N Citrus Ave, Crystal River 34428) at 7 pm  Thursday Nov. 29th. I will be the quest speaker and would like to answer your fishing questions. High incoming tide will be early morning this weekend.
