Crazy weather has made it very difficult for me to send a very accurate report. What I’ve found that most days that are tough due to weather will result in “scrapping .” This  is a term that I learned from my past commercial fishing days meaning every fish caught counts. Staying on top of fish with weekly cold fronts will make you second guess yourself ever trip in a boat.  This is what I’ve found that works for me. Warm places in local rivers that are warm to us are also to fish. Look for wind breaks that create natural area’s where the suns heat coming in from the south will blanket a cove with high trees blocking cold north winds. Top bait is live shrimp on a 1/8 oz. jighead fished on a outgoing tide. Most of the tide we have this time of year will be outgoing due to north winds. Big tides will be the days before a approaching cold front. Plan your trip around the warmest part of the day and this is fishing that will require an angler to stay focused on the tick of your line. At the time I’m writing this report we caught sheepsheadsnook, trout, black drum, mangrove snapper and redfish. Enough fish hit the ice for a family to eat. High incoming tide this weekend will be in the morning.
