Up until today, I felt all reports were not worth mentioning unless you like to hear about the northeast winds, no water and lock jaw.  After a miserable week of not catching much of anything to brag about, now catching is on.  Mind you we did enjoy the fishing and the bright sunny conditions.

Today, a feeding frenzy mud with spotted sea trout, mackerel and bluefish are all a mix in waters between 8-12 feet west of Homosassa Marker #2.  And this weekend looks great, maybe a little wind here and there such as a sea breeze afternoon, but nice and sunny conditions throughout the end of this month.

Be it DOA C.A.L. Jigs, Bass Assassin or the Gulp, try white, root beer or pink.  Jig weights should be at least ¼ oz. but more than 3/8 oz.  Let in sink for the count of 1 for each foot of water you are in.  Trout will be feeding near the bottom, slow reeling with raising the rod tip a slight twitch then let the jig fall, if you feel a tap, set the hook or begin reeling at full speed.

Can’t say enough about how much I love my Power Pro braided line.  10 pound test is heavy enough.  Use a 20-30 or 40 pound leader; trout =20, blues=30, 40=macks.

>A small piece of fresh shrimp used on the jig will aid in producing more strikes, just make sure the pieces are no longer than a ½ inch or your jig will swim like a clump, losing its action.  Of course you would not need shrimp if you are using Berkley Gulp.

Remember if you are too busy to go fishing well you are just too busy!
