Rushing out on the water has not been a priority for many of us as we’re just happy to still have a boat and a tow vehicle. Securing our homes, clearing debris and helping others have taken precedent the past two weeks. As we begin to settle into a daily routine, we can start to enjoy the wonderful paradise that we live again. Waterways will soon be back to normal with busy recreational boat traffic buzzing down channels. When you’re ready to venture out, consider water depth. Most fish move to deeper, more stable water when the surface becomes turbulent. Bottom fishing is a good alternative now as frozen bait could excel at drawing fish in with its scent, even though fish might not be able to see it from a distance. Expect mangrove snapper, sea bass, grouper, flounder and more to cooperate. Frozen sardines, threadfin and squid will all work.
