 Retrieving deadly balloons
| "These are Turtle Killers!" |
| Those are the fervent words of an offshore skipper Capt. Dave Zaleski who feels strongly about protecting the marine ecosystem and the great array of creatures who inhabit it. On their many fishing ventures out into the Gulf of Mexico, Capt. Dave and his crew keep a watchful eye for these Mylar weapons of mass destruction that can kill many sea life that ingest them, thinking they are jellyfish. "People just don't think," says Capt Dave. "They have their parties and celebrations and release hundreds of these lethal to wildlife balloons, completely unaware of the tragic and painful deaths they can cause."
Capt. Dave and his crew urge all who fish our waters to take a few minute off your course to pick up and dispose of these deadly Mylar "turtle killers." And to those who celebrate weddings, graduations, birthdays, etc .-- please don't release these deadly Mylar balloons into the environment.
