I’m often asked, “What’s the best time of year to fish our region?”  My answer has always been seasonal, “spring or fall, anytime around Easter and anytime around Thanksgiving.”  Well, the calendar indicates we’re here.  Typically the air temperatures are pleasant and the water temperatures are perfect.  Practically every species that ever swims in our waters is here now. Our resident fish become active in preparation for the winter months and the migratory species passing through our area are here now and feeding aggressively.  Mixed bags from offshore to inshore are not uncommon. Forecasts of cool nights with warm to mild days spells good fishing.  Catches can include kingfish, Spanish mackerel, cobia, grouper, snapper, trout, redfish, snook, and more.
