A week’s worth of tropical weather may be in our forecast for the Big Bend keeping off-shore anglers eyeing the sky’s. Although for gag grouper running out deep may not be necessary with cooling water temperatures. Shallow water grouper fishing is getting better with some keepers being caught by lucky trout anglers around rocks in 4 foot of water. Lucky is the best way to look at it but for more certain targeting start out at the 12 foot mark.. Live pinfish, sardines and shallow running plug will get the bite.  Snook are in transition from the outside keys to the creek mouths, passes and rivers. High outgoing tides are best and structures like deep rocky shore lines, down trees and docks are good spots to fish. One of my favorite color combinations is a glow soft body with a chartreuse jighead. A few tripletail are hanging on the buoys or markers and eating  live shrimp under a float. Big incoming tide helps push more tripletail in. High incoming tide will be in the morning this weekend.
