After a hunting season without getting a buck I got a little down on myself. Going through each hunt in my mind and enjoying the memories of all the game I did see without pulling the trigger made me feel that each and every day I got to hunt was worth every minute of effort. There are some people who pass each year on December 31st or a birthday but for myself it is the end of each hunting season. Eating together in the cook cabin, sitting around the campfire with my family and watching my daddy walk the dogs in one more time is a tradition I want to live until my last breath. Just like fishing it’s in my blood.  For the best trout and red fishing go to the edge of the Gulf, western points and rock piles on the incoming high tide are the best spots.. Moon phase and weather will predict the incoming tide but just enough water to cover the rocks is enough to catch good fish. Think small, when searching for fish because they will be in tight schools. Be prepared to stop the vessel when you hook up and work that area to capitalize on the fish. Incoming tide will be late afternoon or early morning this weekend.
