A great week of fishing is on it’s way. Last week’s cold front helped by rewinding us back just a little to keep the spring fishing coming. There’s two ways to find trout. One way is to fish the shallow rock’s out at 8 feet  with a MirrOlure LIL Jon in watermelon redflake. The other way to catch them is to fish the rocky points and ribbon rock near Chassahowitzka Bay. The best bait is a D.O.A. 5.5 glow jerk bait.  On the keys north of the Homosassa River look for jumping mullet to locate redfish. With the clear you would think that it would be easy to see them but it’s best to stake out for a few minute to let the redfish make the first move. A small school of reds can blend in with the bottom very easily and what I’ve found if they’re swimming or move, the ball will be in your court. On the offshore side there are good catches of mangrove snapper and hogfish coming to the docks stating at 18 to 30 feet. A few cobia are showing up on the larger structure and wrecks. High incoming tide will be the afternoon this weekend.
